- For her "Walk of Fame" inductee ceremony, a number of Joan Callamezzo's requests were unattainable:
- 1) she wanted a bottle of "Chateaux Marmont"; however, that is a hotel in Los Angeles, not a wine.
- 2) she wanted Buddy Holly to sing at the ceremony; however, he's been famously dead for 60 years.
- Joan's ninth memoir, which she signs for April Ludgate, is titled "Game of Joans", which is a play-on-words from HBO's hit TV show Game of Thrones.
- The show's co-creator Michael Schur predicted the Chicago Cubs’ World Series win. Shortly after meeting in Chicago, Lucy takes Tom Haverford and Andy Dwyer on a tour of the city, and one of the stops is Wrigley Field. Lucy is giving her case as to why Chicago is a great place to live, and one of her talking points is how “everybody’s in a good mood because of the Cubs winning the Series.” This episode was aired in January 2015 but is set in the spring of 2017; the Cubs won the MLB World Series title in 2016—their first appearance since 1945 and first win since 1908.
